SOUTHERNNESS has a long tradition of celebrating Southern Original Humor and History. We cherish the gift of laughter from Mark Twain to Andy Griffith and the freshest, Southern wit today. Southernness is proudly created for Southerners by Southerners.

HISSY FIT is a new, Southernness Original Candle with free, fresh, original Ben South humor Big Dixie's Hissy Fit, inspired by Southern original wit, Tallulah Bankhead. And, our original, HISSY FIT cocktail recipe in the Southernness Cafe for you to make a home. (Entertaining suggestion: Pitch a "HISSY FIT PARTY" with candles, cocktails and someone reading or ranting "Big Dixie's Hissy Fit").

We honor our newspaper heritage by publishing Ben South SOUTHERNNESS DAILY news, FREE on Facebook. Y'all come join us for some fresh, Southernness fun every day.

Our classic, handpoured Artisan Candles were inspired by part of my family who established a Southern fragrance and flavorings shop in the 1930s. And the Southernness Gift Shop continues our celebration of Southern Originals.

THE SOUTHERN HUMOR HIGHWAY is a 1,027 mile, site-specific, multi-media work of art by American artist/humorist, Ben South. The main corridor of the Southern Humor Highway begins in Hannibal, Missouri (Mark Twain) and connects to New Orleans, Louisiana (Ellen Degeneres). The envisioned art includes: repurposed billboards, state tourism prints, original paintings with Southern humor collage, and a documentary book/audiobook/video.

Ben South is creating the "Southern Humor Highway" to bring miles of smiles during a grim period of American economic uncertainty. Read more about The Southern Humor Highway.
