Motherness and Southernness
"Mama Magnolia," The First Fragrance for Southern Mothers," is a very personal creation. Every Southern boy from Elvis to Ray Charles, from Bill Clinton to George W., will forever be a "Mama''s Boy" and I am certainly no exception.
When I first began thinking of concocting a special scented salute to my mother and all Southern mamas, my memory carried me back to a late afternoon the previous summer when Mother and I had sipped sweet tea as we rocked in the vine-covered gazebo of her beloved garden. We shared family stories and devoured a tin of pecan pralines while the fragrance of grandiflora magnolia blossoms wafted around us.
The origin of "Mama Magnolia" is that fond recollection. I wanted to capture that warm summer’s day and save it forever. Even then, I knew such gentle pleasures are not everlasting and should be cherished. Together with my French perfumer, "Mama Magnolia" was created as a unique salute to all Southern mothers and my personal favorite in particular.
