Southernness Historic Candles combines our unique understanding of fragrant, Southern botanicals with the study I've done in France alongside perfumers and botanists related to naturally enhancing mood. It is gratifying year after year, when people tell me the plant aromas from our test gardens and products have made them feel better and enjoy life more fully. Our white lavender is as fresh and pure as the winds in the lavender farms in Grasse (South of France); and our magnolia, jasmine, gardenia and other essences are quintessential wonders saluting the nature of the American South. We could go nose-to-nose with any perfumery in Paris.
Through the years, Southernness has created original essences for First Ladies, for Rachel's garden at President Andrew Jackson's home and other exclusives. We don't make any wild, snake oil claims about our award-winning aromatherapy fragrances, but we do appreciate all the praise and knowing people depend on us and keep coming back for more. Back in the 1940s, our family provided similar spirit-lifting pleasures with the druggist extracting essences and hand-blending into powders and potions.
