KISS MY GRITS--Sassy, Southern belles have been saying "Y'all can just kiss mah grits" since the days of the Old South, but it took Alabama-born, comic actress, Polly Holliday, as Flo on the hit, 1970s, sit-com, "Alice" to make it a popular catchphrase. Polly Holliday was a truckdriver's daughter who trained as a classical pianist at Alabama College at Montevallo. That's where we're saluting her on THE SOUTHERN HUMOR HIGHWAY between Fannie Flagg of Birmingham and Octavia Spencer of Montgomery. Let's plan on breakfast with these laugh-loving ladies, don our aprons and join them in teasing the world with a playful, "KISS MY GRITS."
